IDM – Lesotho in conjunction with Petroleum Fund have commenced a 5 day training course on 𝘽𝙖𝙨𝙞𝙘 𝙁𝙤𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙩 𝙎𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙞𝙘𝙚𝙨 for Fuel stations Representatives.
This course is designed to equip entry-level petrol attendants working at service stations in Lesotho with the foundational knowledge, practical skills and professional conduct required to perform their duties safely, competently and with excellence.
Grounded in the Occupational Safety and Health Act No. 4 of 2024 (Lesotho), the course develops attendants who understand their legal rights and responsibilities, handle hazardous fuel products correctly, serve customers with confidence, and respond decisively to emergencies, making them professional representatives of the fuel retail industry
The learner must understand and familiarise themselves with the intended learning outcomes and content outlined in this course. Not all outcomes will be achieved solely through traditional lectures; autonomous, self-directed learning will also be required.
𝗔𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝘀 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼:
1. Perform vehicle maintenance functions in the forecourt
2. Apply principles of scene size-up to manage the emergency scene in the forecourt.
3. Describe the duties of employers, employee rights and responsibility in accordance with the national OSH Act of 2024
4. Analyse and interpret automated pump readings
5. Demonstrate meticulous customer care during service provision.
6. Apply basic firefighting techniques in emergency situations
7. Work effectively as a member of a team in the organisation.
